Bryon Menegakis Obituary

64, of Acton, MA, formerly of Athens, Greece, after a two year battle with cancer, died at Parmenter Wayside Hospice, Wayland, MA. Devoted father, who always possessed a strong passion for his three children, their lives, their dreams, and all of their activities. Avid photographer, loved boating, and in mind and spirit, life by the sea. Venerable gentlemen's clothing specialist for over 30 years. Survived by his mother Eleni, 96; sons Michael Byron and Peter Christian; daughter Elena Menegakis Cochran, her husband, Henry Cochran; beloved new granddaughter Sophia Elizabeth (born) May 25, 2008) and former wife and dear friend Janet Margaret Menegakis. Also survived by his siblings, older brother Demosthenes and twin sister Eleftheria Coates and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Greek Orthodox TrisAgion will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 11 AM at the Chapel of Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton, MA 02459. Donations in his memory may be made to the Bethke Cancer Center of Emerson Hospital, Concord, MA. Visiting hours will be held in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., NATICK, MA 01760 on Monday, June 23, 4-7 PM. For directions and guestbook: http://www.everettfuneral.com.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Byron's death. He was a kind and gentle person and will be greatly missed.
