Claire McGovern Obituary

81, of Orange, formerly of the Boston area, died late Saturday evening June 21, 2008 at the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner, following an illness. She was born on May 15, 1927 in Boston and grew up in the Boston area. Claire was married to Paul McGovern Sr. on June 19, 1948 and had enjoyed 56 years together at the time of his death in 2004, at which time she moved to Orange. She was a devoted mother and caring grandmother. Survivors include her children, Paul McGovern Jr. and is wife Joan, of ClInton, Marie LeBlanc and her husband Raymond of Orange, Dorothy Mullen and her husband Steve of Orange, Phyllis Farrell and her husband Tom of Walpole, Peter McGovern and his wife Kathy of Natick, Gerry McGovern and his wife Robin of Clinton, John McGovern and his companion Tina Duquette of Hudson, NH, Noreen McGovern of Waltham and Barbara Tambascio and her husband Joe of Dedham, 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a sister Marie Barn of Sudbury. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main St, ORANGE, is directing the arrangements. What a great, wonderful and caring person that lived and will be missed. I only wished I could have been with her in person more often. She will always be in my heart and thoughts forever and ever. God bless you all, from my family to yours.
