Dear Family of Cy Fay, Jr.

It is with a great sadness that we learned of Cy’s death. He, indeed, was a wonderful friend and co-worker and will be missed by many. We will remember fondly, his wit and jolly sense of humor. Also, we will miss our leisurely dinners with he and his beautiful bride, Joanne, when visiting the “Cape”.

May the angels welcome him as he greets his Joanne. May you, his family, accept our sincere prayers and condolences.

Melissa, Danielle, Adrienne, Owen and Peter: Some of us called him “CJ,” “Cyril,” “C,” “Mr. Fay,” while others called him “Uncle Cyril,” you called him “Dad” and one called him “Grandpa.” CJ exemplified how all should care for one’s spouse and family, how a man should counterattack a heart attack by jogging daily for the rest of his life (which he did up until January 2008) and bearing his own arduous medical treatments as if all was normal. He had a persistency of good character that ran deep, early and strong, from helping Joanne’s Mom and family in Brookline, working at the National Security Agency in Ft. Mead, MD, working days and going to Northeastern University nights for eight years, graduating from a tough engineering curriculum, working on the Nation’s Missile Systems at Raytheon, saving and buying a home in Burlington, guiding his four girls so well and building a retirement home in East Falmouth. You have to live up to what he would expect you to all to do for the rest of your lives. He was so proud of all of you and especially his Grandson Owen and to a lesser extent the Patriots and the Red Sox. When we spoke last, he said that he looked forward to go for another sail this summer, so we expect you all to share with us his sail anytime. --- Jim and Dottie Mackey

To my beloved Uncle CJ,
I know I speak for all my brothers and sisters of the great and sincere loss we feel at the passing of our uncle CJ.
I personally have always harbored in my heart a deep affection for my Uncle CJ. He was a warm and tender person, loving to his wife and a boundless adoration for the three jewels of his life, daughters Melissa, Adrianne and Danielle.
I have to go back to my childhood to collect the fond memories of my uncle when he and Joanne lived in Wilmington. We had many cookouts there, our families together on Sundays, and he gave me my first experience of the fun it was to toast marshmellows over the fire. I guess I have my love for Oreo cookies from him too, which I know came from his Dad, my grandfather, who used to sneak me a few while nanny wasn't looking. I wouldn't be surprised if the "light of his life," Owen Patrick, will love them too, carrying on this small but special Fay tradition.
I will love you and keep a place in my heart for you for the rest of my days.
Loving niece,
Janet

In honor of a man who brought a smile to your face no matter what he may be going through. Most recently hanging out before a snowy GB/Seahawks game to a hospital bed, his spirit and love were always evident. He will be missed by so many.

CJ - We will miss your neighborly presence, your always present smile, your tenderness towards our family, your Oreo's and your appreciation of your Boston Red Sox (to this NYY fan). Summer's won't be the same without you.
We will always remember you and Joanne and you will live on in our hearts!
All Our Love -

We are so sorry for your lost. He will be missed, from his smile to his jokes and pranks. I think the kids (now adults) still duck while at the end of the pew in church from his tapping of the head as he walked by. If I remember correctly after he did it the kids would ask are “Are we going to his house for a dough nut?”

Again so sorry…..
