He will be missed by many. I can say I am blessed to have known him. He leaves such a legacy of strength, service and heart. He will be looking over us as he did when he walked this earth. Lynn's African-American patriarch .. who opened small and large doors for many in the community of color. God Bless him and his family [spiritual and biological]. I will miss 'Uncle Darby'.

My heart and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time. Having met most of you at sometime, it is easy to see that Abner had a wonderful group of close loving people around him. For all of his efforts to make the world better for all of his fellow beings in Lynn, Boston, New England and the United States and beyond, not enough can be said. Godspeed and farewell.

Thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Abner was a leader and an inspiration to those of us involved with civil rights concerns and issues in Medford during the 70's.
