To The Lorden Family,
We all know that day had to come. No one was ready for god to take the best! The kind man Joe was he always had something for everyone even a kind word or an old story. It's so hard not to see him come around the corner on his horse and carriage. As he would say to me "I learned you a lot!" The first four years working with him everyone was John even if you were a woman or man you were John. I was very lucky to work with him for the 7 yrs. I miss the Sunday mornings at I Hop for pancakes before he'd get on his bike and head to the flea mkt. Mike and I would stare and say "wow I wish I could do that at 80 and feel that great". Now all we have are great stories or a trinket of a man that touched so many people and is GREATLY MISSED BY ALL YOUNG AND OLD! We are sorry as we couldn't see him to his resting place. When god came and called upon him that it was his time to be with his wife he'd missed so much!!! He touched us all an will be remembered for his carriage rides at Fanuial Hall. Love Holly & Mike

Dear Timmy, As you and your family know, your Dad meant so much to my family. He was always there with a helping hand and a smile. The best neighbor and friend we could ask for. We miss him so much already. Please let me know if there is anything you need.

Tim and family,
I have beautiful childhood memories of my dad, Boston and the horses. Your father, "Zookie" as I knew him, plays a role in so very many of them. He always made me feel special. I still use the afghan throw your mother made me several years ago.
"Zookie" and my dad had a great friendship and he recognized the loss of my dad as the loss of a truly kind and gentle soul. Now another truly kind and gentle soul is lost to those who loved him. It may make it easier to think Zookie and Henry are together again riding carriages.
I will miss seeing him by his carriage in Boston but I will keep him always in my heart.

My name is Kelly Barris, and I met Joe 2 years ago at the wake of my grandmother Dorothy Quigg. A very sweet and kind man. I watched my father Jim Ratcliff smile as he walked in and gave him a hug. I am very sorry that he is gone. I know my grandmother came and got him in his time. They both must be so happy to see eachother again. Missed but never lost. GOD BLESS.
