Mr. Donahue,
Sir, I woud just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and a for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Jack Donahue was my best friend Charlie's dad, a wonderfully charming and deceptively bright man with lively eyes and a mischievous side that he chose to expose perhaps too rarely. To me his qualities are best known through his equally wondrous children and grandchildren.

Cheers for a long and wonderful life! with gratitude for Jack who always treated others with courtesy, loving concern, respect and kindness.

My grandfather Jack's many sterling qualities included a hilarious dry wit; love of children; healthy skepticism toward ambitious claims, and dedication to his family. Except for college in New Hampshire and time in Washington and the Pacific during WWII, he lived his whole life in Boston -- and was one of the few Bostonians who got to experience the sequential 1918 and 2004 Red Sox championships. Though known as a devastatingly effective trial lawyer, I knew him to be gentle and unfailingly modest.
