Robert Cohen Obituary

Of Marshfield, July 3rd, 2008, at the age of 70, after succumbing to cancer. Beloved husband of 51 years to Amy (Duryee) Cohan, LICSW. Loving father of Kathryn Cohan, MD and her fiance' Timothy Davis, of Upton, Kristin Cohan of North Grafton and her fiance' William Stefanelli of Mystic, CT and Kerryn (Cohan) Dakers and her husband Mark of Plymouth. Robert was predeceased by his brother Alfred B. Cohan, Jr. of Avon, CT. Robert was a resident of Marshfield for 39 years. He grew up in Chatham, NJ, the son of Alfred B. Cohan and Dorothy (Lutz) Cohan. He graduated from Chatham High School Class of 1956 and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Roberts early career started in sales. In 1985, he established his own successful business as a Manufacturers Representative and President of Thermco Products, Inc. He was respected by his colleagues and customers alike for his integrity and commitment to service. An avid birder, Bob enjoyed many hours of studying and observing the different species in Massachusetts. One of his favorite places to visit was the Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield. He also took great pleasure in travelling off road in his prized Jeep Wrangler, exploring bird life on Duxbury Beach. Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor, his skill with computer technology and fascination with electronics. His greatest joy was his family. A Memorial Service will be held privately by his immediate family. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to South Shore Sanctuaries/Daniel Webster Wildlife, 2000 Main Street, Marshfield, MA 02050.
