Norma Boothby Obituary

Of Swampscott, lived most of her life in Marblehead, age 89, passed away on June 15, 2008 at the Bertram House in Swampscott. She was the wife of the late Foster S. Boothby. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Genevieve (Little) Friend. Raised and educated in Marblehead, Norma was a graduate of Marblehead High School, Class of 1936. She later attended Chandler Business School, Boston University and Northeastern University. Mrs. Boothby worked in the life Insurance Industry, employed for over 17 years at John Hancock Life Insurance Company, as an Advanced Sales Consultant for Marketing Operations. She was a Charter Life Underwriter and Registered Representative of the National Association of Securities Dealers. She was also a member of the Old North Church and the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead for many years. Norma is survived by her cousin, Eleanor Edgar and her husband Daryl, and cousin, Gail Edgar, all of Englewood, CA, cousin, Paula Moseley and her mother Roberta Moseley, both of Worcester, Goddaughters, Candy Ford and Wendy Taylor, both of Marblehead, nieces of her late husband, Virginia Freeman of Kennebunk, Maine and Brenda Kuich of Heath, Texas, and good friends, Dan and Evelyn Carter of Marblehead. A Memorial Service will be held in the Old North Church, 35 Washington Street, Marblehead, on Thursday, July 10th at 11AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
