Francis P. Luca

Age 82, passed away peacefully after a valiant fight against Cancer surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife Carmela, in marriage for more than 61 years, in addition to eight children, Anthony Luca, Camille Fitzpatrick, Francis Luca, Anne Haney, Francesca Bastarache, Mary Benoit, Lisa Badger, Christopher Luca. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, brother Joseph Luca, and Aunt Rita Burgio. Frank was a veteran of World War II and served in the US navy. He was a former Executive of Merkert Enterprises in Canton MA, enjoying a distinguished career that spanned over forty years. Frank taught Business Ethics, Business Institute and Life Experience Portfolio for the Philosophy and Business Departments at Salem State College, serving as an Adjunct Professor and Executive in Residence. Frank also served as Assessment Advisor at University of Massachusetts. He authored five case studies for Merkert Enterprises, University of Massachusetts, Boston, Merrimack College, Salem State College and Cape Cod Community College. Frank was a Meal on Wheels volunteer, a member of The Olde Barnstable Golf Club, a daily communicant and usher at our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville. In deference to his successful career, he valued and prioritized his faith, family and friends above all else. Visiting hours will be held at The John Lawrence Funeral Home Marstons Mills on Wednesday July 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. There will be a Catholic Mass at on Thursday July 10th at Our Lady of The Assumption Church in Osterville at 11:00 AM. Internment is at The National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, offerings may be made to Our Lady of Assumption Church.
