Dear Uncle Bill and Cousins Maureen and Janet,
Once again in such a short time the Sullivan Family has lost such a sweet soul. Aunt Marie was so loving and always liked to have fun. I remember getting big hugs from her when we would see each other. The prayers of my family and I are with you in this difficult time. Take comfort that she is now at peace with the Lord. With love and sympathy to all of you.

I am writing this here so everyone can see what I wrote for my grandma's Eulogy. I don't think I have the strength to read it there. Marie Sullivan was my grandmother..,and is my hero. I say IS because her memory will live with me, and probably all of you, forever. She was my rock, someone I could count on, and depend upon, to be by my side... always. That's just who she was.. When I had to write a paper for school once, I chose to write about Grandma. She was so proud of me. She was so touched by my words that the paper sits in a frame in her house still to this day. Grandma was a woman who went out of her way to please my brother, myself and my daughter, and just about everyone she met. She would have Papa drive three states away to find me a doll she thought I would love. She taught me many lessons in life like to never settle for anything less then you deserve. She taught me to bake and gave me a love for cooking. *Just ask the family thats all I have been doing the past couple weeks* But most of all she taught me to love. These are lessons I hope to instill in my own daughter. Grandma is gone, but her love, her kindness, and the memory of the person she was, she still lives in me, and in all of us. Thank you to everyone for all your kindness and sympathy towards me and my family through this rough time. It is greatly appreciated!! ~Grandma~ I love you and miss you dearly. But am glad to know Melanie and I and everyone else in the family now has the best guardian angel a person could hope for. ~~Caity

Dear Maureen & Janet and families, God give you strength during these trials. Condolences are not nearly enough to express our sorrow at the loss of a woman whose love for her husband and family was a shining inspiration for us all. My mother loved her dearly, and I take comfort in the fact that she has seen her beloved Marie once again. Danny

I have so many fond memories of Marie - She was our neighbor and friend from the "old days" -- sharing a triple decker in Dorchester. Marie was a young mother and I was a little girl and playmate to Maureen and Janet. I remember Marie always baking something yummy to eat and "Mrs. Duggan's" wonderful homemade doughnuts and molasses cookies.
I will always think of Marie when I hear the music from "South Pacific" or Mitch Miller. She used to make us a huge bowl of popcorn, some Zarex and turn on the Hi-Fi super loud . All of the kids would dance around to the music till we were exhausted. What a clever mom she was !!! She occupied us and at the same time got to listen to her music.
I remember watching one of the 50's hurricanes from Marie's living room windows - the wind whipping by at super speeds. She comforted us and told us everything would be fine and not to be scared. Even now, when we have a brush with a hurricane, I always think of that day at her house - watching the trees bending and the rain pelting.
Marie was a very special lady who loved life and cherished her family. I will always remember her smile and her laugh.
Bill, Maureen & Janet - - My thoughts and prayers are with you - as I know this is a terrible loss to your family. Marie for sure has a special place in heaven.

I loved Marie. I remember the conversations, laughter and tears we shared in Brooklyn and Peabody. Marie's apple pies were something else. I enjoyed Marie's sense of humor and insight into life and human nature. I thank her for bringing Maureen into this world, so she could then be in mine. Life would not have been the same for me without either of them.
All of you are in my thoughts and prayers, always.
Love you all.
