Hi Everyone,
Michael just told me about Sandy's passing. I wanted to express to you my sincerest sympathies for your loss. I am deeply saddened by this news. Sandy was a true saint. I have fond memories of Mike and I visiting with her and Harry, they were great hosts. Sandy always had a smile and an upbeat personality and she will truly be missed by everyone she met. God bless to all of you, the Pink Rose Foundation and everyone else she touched.
All our love,
Mike Margolis and Family

It was with shock and sadness that I heard of Sandy´s death. Sandy played a very special role in my life as my father´s second wife. In many ways, she was like an older sister to me: giving me guidance and sharing her insights about life. She was not only brillant but had a wonderful, warm wit. That twinkle in her eye and gentle laugh will be missed by all. Please accept my condolences on behalf of all the Ellis children.

My heart is broken. Sandra Ellis, co-founder of The PinkRose Foundation passed on July 9th, 2008. Sandra, my older cousin, touched my soul many years ago. As a young child, visiting Sandra in her high-rise Boston apartment lit up my independence. She was "My Girl". The years passed and we had different lives to lead. Sandra moved to DC and I grew up and ventured off to college. We shared a passion for hard work and parties. Our weddings were held at the Dorothy Quincy Suite in the John Hancock Tower displaying our talent for event planning. Later on in life we would bond as breast cancer survivors, kindred spirits in the fight for our lives. Sandra being full of fun was a delight to hang out with. I Iearned the word courage from her. It happened in the stunning beauty of Lourdes, it happened as we co-founded PinkRose, it happened as she smiled and twinkled her eyes while telling stories about her grand nieces and nephews, it happened as she handed scholarships to young children who had lost a parent to breast cancer. I was blessed to have shared my breast cancer journey with Sandra. She genuinely loved life and lived it to the fullest. I am honored to have spent time in the company of such a great woman. In helping others and giving her time to PinkRose she never let on she was in pain or breast cancer was getting to her. Sandra, our "Energizer Bunny" was active to the last week of her life. Sandra's warm generous heart, her smile and twinkle in her eye will surely be missed.
