Joyce Meucci Obituary

On July 10, 2008, passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield VA, she was 77 years of age. She was born on January 28, 1931 to the late Chester and Evelyn Bishop in Malden MA. She graduated from Malden High School and the Boston Conservatory of Music. After her marriage to Otello Meucci, she moved to Maryland to raise her family. She was the beloved mother of two daughters and a son; Laura Hicks and her husband Bill of Herndon VA, Janet Mills of Springfield VA and Matthew Meucci and his wife Karen of Riva MD. She also had 5 grandchildren whom she loved very much; Kelly Hicks Kalajian and husband Matthew, of Charlotte NC, Jeremy Hicks of Fairfax VA, Jessica Hicks of Philadelphia PA, Ryan Mills of Springfield VA and Dante Meucci of Riva MD. She leaves behind many cherished friends and extended family, including Millie and Janie Schofield of North Reading MA and Otello and Gail Meucci of Bethany DE. A memorial service will be held at the Adams Green Funeral Home in HERNDON, Virginia at 11:00 on July 17th. Interment will be private, at the George Washington Cemetery in Adelphi, Maryland following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to an animal rescue organization or Capital Hospice. The family wishes to thank the staff and employees of First Choice Caregivers and Home Instead Senior Care for their excellent care and kind companionship during Joyces final illness.
