Michelle and Kimberly,
I was so sad to hear about the death of your mother. I can remember when I first came to the Elma Lewis School in 1972, and there she was, conducting a dance class. Her strong voice encouraging her students caught my attention. Than I met her two adorable little girls and taught them music. I love you girls and I love your mother. When I was a young student, she encouraged me, and her love of the children at ELSFA was infectious. It was people like Janet who taught me to be the teacher that I am today. I have nothing but fond memories of your mother, and I know that she is in a very good place.
Stay strong and God bless.
Love

Janet,

"We Be Sisters" Remember that poem I sent you about 30 years ago, and you cried when you read it?

You will always be with me, and I ask you to look down from heaven above and touch me, guide me and watch over me.

I shall always love you, and can't imagine that you are not here any more.

Dios tu bendiga......I know you are with him now.

Love your Sister Samia/Edna

Michelle,
Over countless conversations about your mom, I feel that I got to know her as a dear friend. Through those conversations, I felt the love and affection that you two shared and I know that sadness has taken over, but if you reflect upon the love within your heart which you know that your mom had for you, then you know that she would want you to rejoice and celebrate each awakening day. Take comfort in the love she gave unconditionally to all those whose lives she touched. May you and your family find comfort too in the fact that you are in the the prayers of many who care. God bless.

Miss Kay has always been an inspiration to many. She was such a wonderful person. I have had the honor of working with her in assisting families through the Child Care Resource Center for many of years. She has always given families more than they were eligible to receive and helped them through their times of need. She would come to our office to deliver her paperwork or pick up something for CCC and never complained about it. We would talk and catch up on things while she was there. It was a visit you always looked forward to. She loved her job. She loved people. She was always happy, upbeat, positive, giving, loving and much more to others. She has impacted so many lives. She will be missed by many. It saddens me to know she is gone. I believe she is in a better place. I send my condolence to all her family and friends. May God embrace and be with you all.

I had the pleasure of meeting Janet in a graduate course at Lesley last semester. Her determination and love of education was a true inspiration. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family whom she spoke of so lovingly.

Kimmi and Chelle
Thank you for sharing your Mom, Ms.K, with me and all those she came in contact with. Her legacy is how she embraced people. She is a class act, with grace, beauty and strength, and style (with a closet full of shoes, to prove it). Some people tell you they care and others like Ms. K make sure you know it. I knew and I love that she took me in as one of her own, I can't and won't think of her and NOT SMILE even through the tears.
Aaron, Brandon and Madison, Ms. K adored you, thank you for sharing your Grandmother, no one will take her place but my prayer is for God to raise up that special person who will give you the guidance and love of a Grandmother your Ms. K.
To the family and friends
My heart breaks with you and for you; BUT my Spirit is REJOICING, singing, shouting and dancing that Ms. K is Home.
With Love, Love, Love.....
Mara

The first day of class this summer, Janet introduced herself and gave us the best advice and words of encouragement. "Don't wait till you're old like me to finish your degree, do it now" She was full of energy; i remember her chicken dance very well...She had a impact on me in the short time I had known her and I am grateful to have met Janet. I wish I could have known more about this remarkable woman so many people talk about, but through her work and acquaintances I have learned so much about her, she will be missed.

I met Janet a dozen years ago, and with each new meeting I realized even more how special she was. She was a wonderful, interesting person, and a fantastic mother. We should all be so kind and generous and giving. It comes as quite a shock that someone so vital to some many lives can leave so quickly. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

July 16, 2008

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.

I knew Janet only briefly from our M.Ed. program at Lesley; but I knew she was someone special the first time I met her. She will be missed almost as much as she was loved by those who had the privilege of knowing her longer. My condolences to the family.

Michelle:

My heart sank when I heard about the passing of your mother. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing your mother personally, but the way you spoke of her with great pride, made me feel as though I have known her my entire life. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

My sympathies to the entire Kendrick and Stull families. I knew Miss K. through the men's Monday and Thursday basketball group at the CCC. I first met Miss K. when I started playing ball at the CCC in 1991. Miss K. has always supported our mens b-ball group and made us all feel like we were a part of the CCC family. I shall truly miss her smiling face. Dedicated people like her do not often come along but I am proud to say that I was able to share time with her. She shall always remain in my heart and within the walls of the CCC. Peace!
