Of Stoneham, at age 80. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Grunzweig) and the late Doris P. Newton. Devoted father of Diane Mayo and her husband Tom of Stoneham. Cherished grandfather of Danielle Sugrue and her husband Michael of N. Andover, Nicole Mayo and her fiance Brad Williams of Stoneham, Matt and Michael Mayo, both of Stoneham. Great grandfather of Madison Sugrue. Dear brother of Joseph Newton of CA, Jean Zaremba of Wakefield, Henry Newton of Woburn, Edward Newton of Lynnfield, Sally Strachan of N. Attleboro, Betty Sullivan of Hopkinton and Richard Newton of Lynnfield. Brother-in-law of Lorraine MacKenzie and her late husband Thomas, Dawn Cobb and her husband Chuck, Arlene Johnson, Alan MacKenzie and his wife Sandra and Marilyn Kearney and her husband Joseph. Francis was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Veteran, W.W. II. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Francis' life will be held on Friday at 10 AM in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
