Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Even as a kid, Don was kind and gentle when it was "cool" to be rough and tough. It was good to be able to connected with the two of you over the years at happy and sad times. I know that Don has endured pain for several years, and yet he always put on a smile to greet me. He was a dear man.
