What a beautiful group of people were created and brought into this world because of
John P. Doherty Sr.
4 beautiful children,16 beautiful grandchildren and one beautiful great grandchild all live on with a little piece of John P. Doherty Sr. in their hearts. So many lives were touched, so many lives were changed and so many memories remain in our hearts of John - the uncle, the brother, the father, the grandfather, the great grandfather, the husband, the co-worker, the neighbor, the friend!
May those wonderful memories carry you forward and hold him in your heart forever!

THE ETERNAL LIFE OF ONE

In you I feel a soul that’s alive
Flowing like a river inside
And when I’m calling to you through space and time
You’ll be helping me to survive

Your body of light is burning bright
Within you is a world of desire
And when you’re reaching for me to see you through.
My heart will be there for you.

There is in everyone, a deeper sense of being
For all we understand, we’ve only just begun
Because the mystery, is why we keep on living
Living the eternal life of one

There lives a child in your eyes
Echoes from a past left behind
Release that child, and learn to live again
The love you give will never end

Freedom is your force of life
A Spirit that can’t be denied
Your soul’s transcending, the binds that keep you down
Awakening is so profound

What is our destiny, the path that we have chosen
We live what we believe, will open up our hearts
Give yourself to me, and feel the joy of giving
Living the eternal life of one

And in time they’ll come a day
When you’ll walk alone but don’t be afraid
For all you’ve loved and lost will be yours again
And your soul will carry on
Living the eternal life of one

You will always be in my heart Dad!

Love,

John P. Doherty Jr.

Dad,
Your love for life will always live on through your family. As I walk this earth without you, I know that your spirit lives on in me and is the wind beneath my wings...till we fly together again Dad

What is Death?
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without affect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.

All is well.
