Mr. Lamontagne,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Peggy -
Carol and I are with you in spirit even though we are far away. We send love to you and your family and know that the
comfort of their love will help you through this time. We will be in touch soon. We loved Dick and will miss him so much.

I have never known anyone to battle adversity, pain and suffering, and disability with such courage and dignity and such compassion for others. Despite his obvious discomfort, I never heard him complain and was awed by the way he used his sense of humor and sharp wit to diffuse potential pity.

Most people in Dick's condition would have long since given up day to day living to concentrate on dying, but not our Dick. His passion for his work and love of Plimoth Plantation and the people here translated into a fiscal efficiency that we have probably taken for granted. If each of us exercises an ounce of the courage he mustered every day just to get out of bed and come to work, there will be a legacy here that Dick would be very, very proud of.

I am so sorry for your loss. Its been years since I saw Dick, but he was such a beautiful person and helped me many times while I was on the HPD. We also shared coaching duties with our John's. My John seved 23 years in the Marines and was wounded in Irac. Its hard to believe God took Dick so young but he must be in heaven. We will pray for him. God Bless. Ed Burgess
