Dear Mel, Mary Ann and Lindsay:
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad, Mel. I know you and your Dad had a very close and special relationship and you were a good son. You, Mabs and I were raised by very good people and it is difficult to lose them no matter what the age. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you both and your entire family, as well as, the prayers of my family. I love you all. Love Donna

Dear Mel, I have been calling you and trying to find out where your father was for the past year. I had called his number on Heath St. and was told he didn't live there any more. I was in Boston this past June and called several numbers that were given to me when I called the roofing company. However, even when I went to the Moreland St. address where I had visited you before, I was told by neighbors that the business was closed. I finally was able to say my goodbye to 34 Edgar Ave. because your Dad is now gone and I have not been able to get into my great grandfather's house at #34, although I had been promised that when I was there about a year ago. I loved your Mom, and your Dad and I had fun with the "Same time next year" quip he made to me some 4 or 5 years ago when I accidentally ran into him on Heath St. and identified myself. So Good Luck Mel in your retirement and although I can't seem to say Goodbye to Boston, this time I can finally say Goodbye to the old neighborhood, and particularly #34 Edgar Ave. and all the ghosts. My cousin Gloria Giannone called me to tell me of your Dad's passing because she and I have been wondering where he was. Your former babysitter. Mary

Mel I am very sorry for your unexpected loss and what you maybe going through in the coming months. You were a good son! Your dad was your friend, father, at some point business partner, no anger nor regrets. God has blessed us with our fathers. God could not have written a better script for a relationship between a father and son. We have been truly blessed.

Ann Marie and Mellie, you know how sorry I am of the passing of your Dad. My Marion said "don't be sad Bob he lived a long and happy life". I reminded her of what "Uncle Mellie" said to us 43 years ago at our wedding. "Bobby don't forget if you ever need anything come and see your Aunt and Me." I've learned so much from my Uncles and Aunts
and it is sad for me to say to the last of them, "thank you Uncle Mellie
we Love You.
