I have known Joan-Ellen Marci when I first came to the US at my first job HR & Block. I went back to HR Block looking for her and was shocked that she had passed. She was a caring giving person always have a story to tell. Thank heaven for memory that I will cherish. I surely do miss her.

Joan-Ellen was a wonderful person. I?m actually a long-term client of hers from HR Block. Joan-Ellen had done my taxes for over 20 years. I always looked forward to seeing her each year. In fact I brought her flowers last April in appreciation of her professionalism and friendship to both myself and my family. I will truly miss her.

God Bless,

Sudden sad news of Joan-Ellen's passing brought back happy times when I was Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, 1998-2001. She brought Hazel to several important days like my Senate confirmation. Reuniting with Hazel who took care of me in my early days in Ware MA in about 1940 was a real highlight of my entire Washington experience. Hazel's relationships with leaders like Senator's Joe Lieberman and Chris Dodd were very helpful to me and no doubt Joan-Ellen. Contacts with family friends were a welcome relief in those hectic Washington days.
Remember the good times with both Joan-Ellen and Hazel as both my wife Gail and I do.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death of Joan-Ellen, my second cousin. It was always great fun to speak with her and see her. She visited me in Cardiff, Wales and I was lucky enough to see her in Connecticut in 2005, which was also the last time I saw her mother. Her wonderful sense of humour and generosity will never be forgotten.

Joan Ellen and I worked together at the Department of Treasury. It was definitely my gain as I learned so very much from her. Joan Ellen had a good heart and was a good friend. I'm fortunate to have known her. My prayers go out to her surviving family.

I had the privilege of working with Joan-Ellen many years ago. I was always so impressed by her knowledge, but particularly with her generosity and patience in sharing her knowledge with others. She was an excellent teacher and a kind person. Please accept my condolences.

My condolences to Joan Ellen's family and close friends.

I will always remember Joan Ellen as brilliant, loyal, funny (in a shy way), focused and generous in every way. She is one of the few dear friends in my life who regularly called me on my birthday. Her short life was filled with tons of nice things she did for people -- and thus she acomplished her purpose, in spades.
