Blanche S. Yakavonis

95, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Born August 28, 1912 in Stoughton, Massachusetts Blanche was the beautiful daughter of Zofija Kincas and Adolph Urbonaviciane. Blanche lived in Lithuania and Russia until she was 18 years old, at which time she returned to America on November 17, 1931 via ship on the "Leviathan". When returning to America to be with her sister, Anna and her brother, Clarence, she left behind her mom, dad and sisters. On May 15, 1937 Blanche married the love of her life, Albert W. Yakavonis at St. Peters Lithuanian Church in South Boston, Massachusetts. Before moving to Charlotte in 2000, Blanche and Albert lived in Port Richey, Florida. Although Blanche spent the majority of her life in the United States, she cherished her Lithuanian heritage. A visitation for Blanche will be held on Tuesday, July 29 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Day Chapel at St. Matthew Catholic Church, where the Rosary will be recited. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Day Chapel of St. Matthew Catholic Church with Father Patrick Toole, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. In addition to her husband and best friend, Albert W. Yakavonis, Blanche is survived by her precious daughter Ruth V. DePaola, 4 grandchildren: John Francis, Albert Christopher, Mark Walter and Andrea Ruth Wilson, 6 great-grandchildren: Amanda Mae DePaola, Nicholas John DePaola, Phillip Camblin DePaola, Olivia Virginia DePaola, Emily Ruth Wilson and Sophia Elizabeth Wilson.
