Concetta DiMeglio Obituary

Of Boston's North End, 82, died Monday, July 28, 2008 in Medford, MA. She was the wife of the late Vincenzo DiMeglio, daughter of the late Lodovico Auciello and Maria (Marciello), and sister of the late Rosina Rossi, Giuseppina Ascolillo, and Jenny DiGiovanni. Concetta is lovingly survived by her children, Josephine Politano and her husband Vittorio of Medford, Maria Tinnirello and her husband Vincenzo of Medford. Cherished grandmother of Melissa and Stephanie Tinnirello, and Victor Politano. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at Boston Harborside Home of J.S. Waterman & Sons-Langone, 580 Commercial St., BOSTON on Thursday, July 31, from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral mass will be held in St. Leonard Church, corner or Prince and Hanover St., Boston on Friday, August 1, at 10:15AM. Interment at St. Michael's Cemetery, Boston. Iwant to say we are sorry for the loss of your mother. I searched the paper last week when I heard she had passed, but could not find a listing. My mother very much wanted to attend the wake & funeral. Our family have been Connie's next door nieghbors on sheafe street for almost 50 years. We could not have asked for a better nieghbor. There was never any noise or trouble or complaints or anything. I also do remember the store on Prince. How everthing was stacked to the cieling, the floors were covered in sawdust and how your dad always knew where everything was. My mother has been heartborken as have you and your family since the loss of Connie. My family & I will pray for your mother and your family.

Josephine and Maria -

Both your parents were very much a part of our lives growing up in the North End. We were at the store everyday to buy candy. Your sweet mother, with her soft spoken voice would repremand your father for pinching our cheeks so hard. When we got older, we would see your mother walking. She would take a trip to "la mercata" (Haymarket) and we would often offer her a ride with her heavy bags of grocercies but she would insist on walking ... as long as we drove her grocercies home. We will always remember her and keep them both in our hearts forever.
