Irma DeJon Obituary

{M3}CAMBRIDGE DeJon, Irma Gertrude NEWTON DeJon, Irma Gertrude WATERTOWN DeJon, Irma Gertrude {M1}DeJON, Irma Gertrude (Anderson) _Who lived and worked in Newton for nearly 50 years, died July 30 at Belmont Manor, Belmont at the age of 84 after having Alzheimer's Disease for more than five years. Irma was born in Worcester, the daughter of Gertrude and Ernest Anderson of Sweden and graduated from the College of Swedish Massage in Chicago in the mid-1940's. She had a thriving practice in massage and cosmetology in her Newton home, not retiring until she was in her mid-70's. She had a active social life and was known for her extravagant parties. She leaves her daughter, India Koopman of Watertown, her son John Koopman, III and his wife Elizabeth of Colchester, CN, her son Mark DeJon and his wife Kellie, and their children, Danielle and Derek of Cambridge. Family and friends will gather in the Blackington, Conroy & Hayes Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., (Rte. 16) West Newton, Friday morning, August 1 for visiting hours from 10-11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, Irma's family asks that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 or www.alz.org.
