Leon M. Granahan

48, of Hingham died suddenly on July 29, 2008. Beloved husband of Barbara (Muldoon) Granahan of Hingham. Devoted son of Leon E. and Alice "Pat" Granahan of Hingham. Loving brother of Mark Granahan and his wife Debby of CT, Anne and her husband Gerry Martin of Hingham, Terrance Granahan of Hingham, Kathleen Granahan of Hingham, Eileen Granahan of NH, Julie and her husband Todd Hegar of NY. Leon was also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, 1 great niece and 1 great nephew. Leon was a lifelong resident of Hingham, and graduate of Hingham High School. He worked for the Massachusetts State Treasury Department in Chelsea. He had been working for the department for over 25 years. He started as a mailroom clerk and worked his way through the ranks. Just recently, Leon was promoted to Operational Manager. Leon was an active boater and fisherman. He was the President and Treasurer of the World's End Neighbors Association. He was a kind and gentle man. He was always smiling, he was the "neighborhood guy" and was always there to lend a hand. He will be truly missed by all those who know him. Visiting hours will be Sunday 3-8 pm at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. in Hingham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home on Monday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at Saint Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham on Monday at 11 AM. Burial will be Saint Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
