Joe and I first worked club dates with Les Smith in Boston during the Sixties. His excellent drumming was an asset to everyone who hired him. We would see each other through the years, whenever Joe came into Boston with a featured artist. We last worked together with Keely Smith--an enjoyable musical experience for all concerned.
God rest your soul, Joe--we all will play together again on the other side.

Joe was my brother-in-law, godfather to my son, Guy, and many years ago before I ever met and married his brother, Danny, he was my friend. He was an incredible brother to his siblings, all of whom are so proud of him, as we all are. My heart goes out to Nick and Holly. Remember the good times!

Joe was a tremendous musician and gentleman, always generous with love and support for his fellow musicians. It was an honor to have played with him. And, man did he swing!

Joe was my boyfriend a very long time ago.
He was in the Army when I met him through a mutual friend.
Although I only knew him for a brief time, he made a great impression on me as a kind, sweet, wonderful person.
I am so happy that ran into Joe at a concert in New York in 2005.
We had a lovely talk during the intermission and although forty-five years had passed, he was just as warm and gracious as I remembered.
I recently sent Joe a story I wrote about him years ago and enclosed two photographs: one was of Joe at age 22, the other was me at 17.
I hope he got to read the story and see the pictures. There were many wonderful memories.
I've never forgotten you Joe and I know that everyone else who knew you will remember you with love.
God bless you.
