Dear Nancy,

I was so very sorry to hear about Gordie. Just thinking about him now makes me smile. During all those wonderful years when Boston Ops was the center of our lives...Gordie was always there with that great little grin and a new joke to make us laugh. You were such a wonderful couple...and I can still picture the love in his eyes whenever he looked at you. Please know that you are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Perry,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your family andl oved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dear Nancy,
In my minds-eye I just "signed-in", walked around the corner toward the "briefing book" only to be greeted by Gordie with his ever present smile. What a wonderful man. We were so fortunate to have him greeting us. We were so fortunate to have known him.
My heart is heavy with the news of Gordie passing. I send my deepest sympathy. I share in your sorry. Sending a thousand hugs and prayers.
I think that I shall make myself "Gordie's Fried Egg Sandwich" for lunch to celebrate his life.

Nancy - We love you. Our Deepest sympathy in this tragic loss. Even though we only had the opportunity to meet Gordon on a few occasions his generosity of spirit , warmth and humor was always apparent and we know you will miss him dearly. The courage you have shown in your retirement - centered always on the needs of your family and others is a source of inspiration to us. We probably won't have the answers to any of this until we are reunited with our loved ones. We Love you. Our prayers are with you.Hang on tight Kiddo. Paula & Bill Mattil
