Mildred P. Grinnell

Of Cohasset since 1957. Age 86. August 1, 2008. Known fondly to all as "Tish", she was born, raised, and educated in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada graduating from Mills College in Oakland, CA with a degree in Fine Arts. Beloved wife of 65 years of James B. Grinnell. Loving mother of Martha B. Grinnell of Hope, BC, James B. Grinnell Jr. of Mattapoisett, MA, Ann H. Grinnell of Kittery Point, ME, Richard T. Grinnell of Scituate, MA, Charles M. Grinnell of Groton, MA, and Matthew P. Grinnell of Merrimac, MA. Sister of Madge McCririck of Vancouver, BC. Grandmother of Lucy, Geoffrey, Jody, Noel, Charlie, Lydia, Dean, Samuel, Emma, Margaret, Hannah, and Sarah. Great-grandmother of Miles. Tish was a renowned floral designer who exhibited, taught, and judged flower arranging at Garden Clubs and flower shows across the North East. She held the distinction of winning top honors at the New England Flower Shore for many years exhibiting last in 2005 at age 83. She was also a longtime member and past President of the Cohasset Garden Club, and was very active in the community. A Memorial Service will be held on August 12 at 11:30am at the Second Congregational Church, 43 Highland Ave., Cohasset. Visiting hours omitted. Interment Private.
