Henry Sanders Obituary

Age 79, of Portsmouth, NH, and West Townshend, VT completed his journey through cancer on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Reese Sanders, and their two children, Sherry Sanders, of Great Barrington, MA, and Russell and his wife, Teresa, of Corning, NY, and three grandchildren, Henry III, Sabra and Evelyn Sanders. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Wyman Sanders of Los Angeles, CA; brother Stewart Sanders and wife, Nancy, of Plymouth, MA, and sister Beverly Payne and husband David of New London, NH, and seven nieces and nephews. Services: A Masonic service will precede the funeral service, beginning at 1 pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at the New Castle Congregational Church, Main Street, New Castle, NH. A burial service will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at 11 am. Friends invited. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Grace Cottage Foundation, P.O. Box 1, Townshend, VT 05353, or to the New Castle Congregational Church, Main Street, New Castle, NH 03854. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home Buckminster Chapel, Portsmouth, NH.
