Dorothy Allen Obituary

86 of Meadowview Ln died unexpectedly Fri., Aug. 8, 2008 at Maine General Medical Center-Thayer Unit in Waterville, ME. She was born in Waterville, ME on May 9, 1922 the daughter of Albert R. & Albertine (Bourque) Genest. Mrs. Allen graduated from Waterville High School & worked for LaVerdiere's Super Drug Stores for over 40 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow. She was predeceased by her husband, Marcel J. Allen who died in 1990, her parents, her 4 brothers: Vincent, Emile, Earl & Raymond & 3 sisters: Lucille LaCroix, Constance & Beulah Genest. She is survived by her children: Timothy J. & wife Elizabeth & grandsons Matthew & Peter Allen of North Reading, MA; Connie M. (Allen) Ziko & husband Joseph & granddaughters Rachel & Margaret Ziko of Coventry, CT 1 brother: Arthur Genest of Oakland, ME & 6 sisters: Priscilla Drapeau of Winslow, ME, Opal Cayford of Skowhegan, ME, Gloria Hoffman of Buffalo Grove, IL, Barbara Hoffman of Meza, AZ, Anne Swears of Waterville, ME & Marie Turner of Meriden, CT. Also by several nieces, nephews & grand-nieces & grand-nephews. There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Wed., Aug. 13 at St. John the Baptist Church, 47 Monument St., Winslow, ME with committal prayers & burial at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery Civic Center Dr., Augusta, ME. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to St. John's Catholic School, 15 South Garand St., Winslow, ME 04901 Arrangements with the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St. Waterville, ME

We have many fond memories of Aunt Dotty. She was always so cheerful and loving. We will miss her dearly and express our deepest condolences to Tim and Connie and families.
