Warner Dalzell Obituary

Of Scituate, August 9, 2008, Age 83, formerly of Natick. Loving husband of Louise (Tait) for 58 years. Father of Susan MacLean (husband, Steve) of Scituate and Stewart Dalzell (wife, Cindi) of Stow. Also survived by his brother Stewart of Florida, six grandchildren, Ashley (MacLean) MacCutcheon, Adam and Courtney MacLean, Ned, Brett, and Haley Dalzell, and one great-grandchild, Brady MacCutcheon. After growing up in Brookline, MA and serving 3 years in the Navy in World War II, Warner graduated from Brown University. He retired from a long career as a mechanical engineer with the Fenwal Corporation in Ashland, MA. Warner was a talented woodworker with a dry sense of humor and could fix anything. He was able to enjoy many happy retirement years with his family, spending time sailing, carving, and traveling to Europe. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 3 PM at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Scituate, 330 First Parish Rd., Scituate, MA. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made "In memory of Warner Dalzell" to the South Shore Visiting Nurse Association (SSVNA), 100 Bay State Rd., Braintree, MA 02185 or Scituate Etrusco Associates, Inc., 1 Common St., Scituate, MA 02066.
