Elizabeth Corning Obituary

Died Tuesday Aug. 12, 2008 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was 73 years of age and was raised and educated in Boston. She lived in Milton for 23 years before moving to Weymouth in 1999. Elizabeth retired in 1997 after working 23 years as a communications operator for New England Medical Center. She was an avid Opera Fan and was a member of the New England Opera Club of MA. Beloved wife of the late Edward H. Corning. Devoted mother of Elizabeth Cantor of Avon, Pamela Coleman of Weymouth, Theodore Corning of Nashua, NH and Alexander Corning of Braintree. Sister of Ronald Brinkmann of Weymouth, Frank Brinkmann of FL, Marjorie O'Brien of Weymouth and Elaine Crowe of Haverhill. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service in the SOUTH WEYMOUTH McDonald Funeral Home at 809 Main St. (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.) Friday at 11:00 o'clock. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery, South Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham MA 01701.

Elaine, my dearest friend in the world; my sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to you and the family on the death of our wonderful, loving Elizabeth (Betty, Liz). She has always been the most caring and intelligent big sister ever. We all have such wonderful, joyful, loving memories of her that will stay with us always. Gentle, loving, kindness, and a fun loving spirit.....she will always be with us. Love to you all. Your loss is shared and also the many wonderful memories. Celebrate her life.
