To John's family,
Rose and I were heartbroken to learn of John's passing. He was a great friend, and a great traveling and working companion. I have thoroughly enjoyed our association, and am grateful for having had the opportunity to know him. We are all better off for having had John in our lives.

Jane,
Please know that you and your family are in our prayers. Lisa and I really enjoyed having dinner with you and John when you were here in Gainesville. I had hoped to share a beer with John again, but that will have to wait. We consider Paul and Kelly and Matthew and Kaitlyn part of our family. They are greatly loved - not only by us- but by the rest of the community. We hope to see you again soon.
