Dear Lane Family,
Mr. Lane was my guidance counselor at Wilson Junior High School. I cannot tell you how important he was to me, or how much he impacted my life. He helped me to have confidence in myself and showed me a kindness I had never known until then. I consider him one of the most important people in my life. I am truly blessed for having known him. My prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Kristin Caissie Drew

Lane Family:
I was a student of Mr Lane at Wilson Jr High in the early 60's and he helped me, a very unsure jr high student to excel above anyone's expectations, i always remember him as an inspiration in my life.

So sad to hear of Mr. Lane's passing. I was in his civics class in 1964/1965 season. I think of him often when I do my paintings because he gave us a project and I did a drawing of Francis X Balotti. My father taught me a great technique and Mr. Lane loved it. (said he was keeping it-and he did). So every time I use that technique, I think of how I started using it and of him. He also taught us to be aware of the goings on in the world. I passed that on to my kids as I would only let them watch the news before school and now they are doing the same with their children. So, I am glad that I knew him and I hope your heavy heart will feel a little lighter knowing so many people loved him.

Please accept my condolences, Ellie. It was nice seeing Pete at our 50 year BSC reunion in 2006. He was a member of the planning committee for many of our reunions and always offered good suggestions. I will remember him for his sense of humor and dedication to teaching. He will be missed by many.

I am sorry to hear of Pete's recent death. We were classmates at BSC and shared many good times. The last time I saw Pete was at the end of our 50 year reunion weekend in 2006. He stood by the door and wished everyone a safe trip home and hoped we would have another reunion in 2011. He was a remarkable man. Ellie, please accept my condolences.

Ellie, I'm so very sad to learn of your loss and that of one of my classmates. When the class of '56 had its reuinion, I sat with you and Peter at breakfast and later we did the campus tour together. I was so happy to meet you and to spend time with you and Peter after so many years. He was a very, very good man! My prayers are with you.

To the Lane Family,
I never had Mr. Lane or "Peter J" as we called him at Wilson Jr. High, as a teacher, but he was always available to talk. offer words of encouragement, help solve any "teenage dilemma's". He was a mentor to so many. Thru the years, I would always try and live life by the words and wisdom of Mr. Lane. He will be missed by many, as he was so loved by many over the years.
God bless you and help you thru these difficult times. But your memories of all the good times will get you thru..

Mom Lane and Sue:
My heart is breaking for you. I truly considered Mom and Dad Lane as another set of caring and loving parents while at Boston College and wonderful friends as we all got older. BC Football will not be the same without Dad Lane to cheer on the Eagles. With much love, our prayers are with you.

My sincerest condolences to Pete's family. I moved to Natick in 1948 and started at Coolidge Jr. H.S when Pete's Dad was the principal. His Dad had Pete show me around and introduce me to my future classmates. We played Football, baseball and other sports at NHS.
Pete was a pleasure to be with. our prayers are with him and his family.

The Class of '56 learned today of Pete's passing. He will certainly be missed as many of us have fond memories of him at dances, ping pong tournaments and forty minute stops at Paul's so long ago.
My sympathy to you and your family, Ellie. I had a long talk with Pete after one of our White Cliffs luncheons and he was so proud of your son and daughter and seemed so content with life in general. I hope that gives you some comfort.
Very sincerely, Norma.

Mr. Lane was my 9th grade civics teacher and to this day I remember the things he taught us. I also remember the first day in his class , he looked at the class list and looked up and looked at me and said do you have sister Joanne White I said yes. He said sit in the front please. It seems he went to school with my sister. He will be missed but he passed on to us so much .

Dear Lane Family,
I was a student teacher in Peter's classroom in 1969 at Wilson Jr. High School. In the two months that I worked with him, Peter taught me to love teaching and to always keep a sense of humor when dealing with the kids. I have several fond memories of Peter good-naturedly poking fun of me when I made some kind of a blunder. But most of all, I remember how I understood that teaching was in his blood and he was loving every minute of it. Please accept my sincere condolences at your loss.

Dear Mrs. Lane & family,
I am saddened to learn of Mr. Lane's passing. He sparked my love of US History at Wilson Jr. High many years ago. He was one of my favorite teachers and one of many who inspired me to become a teacher myself. I am sorry for your loss.

Dear Sue, Peter, and Ellie,
Pete was such a great man. He was like a second dad to me while I was at BC and he welcomed Terry in grand style by joking around with him. (Yankee/Red Sox games were favorite fuel for jokes!) Even our children, Catie & Terry Jr, fell in love with his kind, gentle nature. He left a lasting impression on every life he touched. We will miss him. You are all in our hearts and our prayers as you struggle through this difficult time. We love you.

It is with great sadness that I read of Pete's passing. Seeing him at the Bridgewater Class of 1956 50th reunion just two years ago brought back memories of those college years of innocence and fun. We missed him and you, Ellie, at this year's luncheon in Plymouth. Our
class and his family have lost a good man. WIth fond good wishes and
sincere sympathy, Carlene Dodd Brown

Peter was a life-saver to my father after my mother died. His weekly visits to my dad bringing him Communion and staying to visit as a companion I believe not only sustained my Dad but renewed his will to go on without my mother. He supported me, too, and I will always be grateful to him. I and my family offer you our heartfelt sympathies.
