Alice Roaen

In Rotonda West, FL, August 7, 2008 81, formerly of Weymouth and Taunton. Beloved wife of 62 years of Leonard, Mother of Leonard Jr. and his wife Laura of Bridgewater, Mark of Martha's Vineyard, Sheila Hammond of San Diego, CA, Christine and her husband Peter Wadsworth of Framingham, grandmother of Christa, Russell, Dewey, Gregory, Leah, Cara and great-grandmother of Sara. Sister of Joseph Murray and his wife Emma of Stoughton and James Murray of Plainville. Also mother of the late Michael Roaen of Cape Cod. Alice was free spirited and loved sailing with her husband. Over the period of 45 years, she sailed small sail boats through the Island Chain from St. Thomas to Grenada. When she was at the wheel, she was the captain and gave orders accordingly. Alice loved swimming, tennis and a fast walk. To know Alice was to love her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alice Roaen Memorial Fund, at any Florida Wachovia Bank. Memorial services were held at her bedside surrounded by family and Tidewell Hospice.
