Ernest Garvel Obituary

72, of Osterville and Ft. Lauderdale FL, formerly of Winchester, MA., died on Aug. 18, at Cape Cod Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Patricia (McDonald) Gavel for 45 years, devoted father of E.J. and William L. Gavel of Tucson, AZ. Loving grandfather of Gregory J. and Jared W. Gavel. Brother of Maureen E. Gavel of Cambridge. Ernie was a graduate of the Brown & Nichols School in Cambridge and Bentley College. He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Berlin Crisis. He loved to sail, and was a member of the Wianno Yacht Club. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Wianno Ave. Osterville on Friday Aug. 22, at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd (Rte 28) MARSTONS MILLS, on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Maureen ...my thoughts and prayers are with you ...I always enjoyed seeing you and Ernie at my aunt & uncle's in Chelsea( Mary & John McLaughlin) who used to work for your uncle Joe...Im having a flash back of a picture of both of you in cowboy /cowgirl outfits...
