Dear Lichter Family,
Susan was one of my first friends and cabinmates at Interlochen Arts Camp in 1975 and 1976. Her 1975 cabin plaque still hangs in Cabin #3 and I have serveral photos of Susan as a camper in the Interlochen Arts Camp photo archives. I remember being surprised and thrilled when during a 1985 staff meeting Susan recognized me after 10 summers. She was fun, happy and extremely kind person. I have very fond memories of Susan.

Dear Paul, Carolyn and Laurie,
I have just learned of you tragic loss of Susan. I am so very sorry and deeply saddened - my heart goes out to you and your family. It has been a very long time since I last saw Susan in Jerusalem when we were both students. However, she will always remain in my memories as my American little sister from all those years ago when you kindly opened your home to me, and hosted an exchange student from far away Finland. I will never forget Susan and the fun she brought to everyday life both at home and at school. It is so sad that her life has come to such an untimely end. My deepest and sincerest condolences to you all, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Lichter Family:
I am so sorry for your loss. I met Susan nearly 20 years ago at CJP, and she was a light in my life for many years. We called each other SL and LT; she was pure kindness; and I am grateful for every minute we shared.

I first met Susan about 20 years ago through work during which time we enjoyed a brief friendship before she moved on to grad school. I was thrilled to find her again this last June, looking and feeling so terrific during a chance encounter in one of her favorite shops (Fire and Opal in Coolidge Corner). Over the next couple of months, we met to compare notes on our respective life journeys. I was reminded again of what a wonderful and beautiful human being Susan was --super caring, thoughtful, funny, and compassionate. She was excited about her trip to Venice. Although our reunion was short, Susan will live in my heart forever. I only learned of her passing yesterday and its is with great sadness that I write this note. I know that anyone who knew Susan will feel the same as I'm sure she touched us all deeply. She is already sorely missed by her friends in Brookline.

My sincere and deepest sympathies to the family. She was a wonderful person. I met Susan through Jewish federation work 15 years ago. I was always impressed with her energy, intelligence, dedication and love of Judaism and all people. She was a friend. She made a positive impact on Jews in Boston and around the world through her work. She also made, kept and improved the lives of many close friends in Boston. She will be deeply missed.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Lichter and Laurie,
I am deeply saddened and in shock to learn that Susan passed away. I went to Greenhills with her 7th-12th grades and throughout that time she was one of my best friends. The last time I saw her was when I visited her in Brookline about 10 years ago. Even though we weren't in touch with frequency, she was a friend who when I was with her, it felt like no time had passed and we picked up where we had left off (we would always laugh like crazy together about childish stuff and would call it Susanaberger humor). Susan was an amazing person and we will all miss her dearly. Love, Susan (MacDonald) Magante
