Harold S. "Babe" Roberts

86, of Bedford and formerly of Reading, August 29, 2008, at age 86. Beloved husband of Barbara M. (Tuney) Roberts. Loving father of sons, Carl Roberts of CT and Allen Roberts of West Bridgewater. Daughters, Cynthia Cokorogianis of FL.; Diane Vaciliou of Middleton; Sharon Roberts and Kay Bite of Newburyport and Pamela LaCross of NY. Brother of Leslie Roberts of Manchester, NH and Donald Roberts of Costa Rica. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Harold was a WWII, AX POW Korean and Vietnam Veteran. He served with the 8th Air Force, 390 Bomb Group. He was held POW in Germany in Stala Luft IV and VI and was on the 86 DAY of Road March. He was a Life member of AX POW, Mass Chapter 1 and the D.A.V. in Reading. Funeral service at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., NORTH READING on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7 PM. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 3 to 6:45 PM. Interment will be in the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
