Grandma Edie as she was known to our three sons was a special person that we all loved and admired. We will always keep a special place in our hearts for memories of her. We maintained our connection even through the distance (N.Carolina & Chicago) making the trip to her comfortable and cozy residence each time we visited the Boston area. She was very fortunate to have a loving family close by to make sure she had all of her needs taken care of and to include her in their family gatherings. She would always be showing us pictures of her family times as it seemed there was nothing more important to her. Edie, we will miss your counsel and your insights into this complex world, but feel enriched for having had you as a part of our life. Love The Patterson families of Gail & Bob, Robbie, Kenny, Billy.

Our family has been very close to Aunt Edie as long as I can remember. I was actually born in their household as my parents were living with them at the time. We will miss her, and our thoughts are with Jerry and Linda and the rest of her extended family. I'm sorry I'll be unable to attend either the wake or the funeral.
