My deepest sympathies go out to the Grandmaison Family and to Joyce on the loss of Norman...Norman had that smile and twinkle in his eye whenever I saw him while working behind the front desk...I will miss his positive attitude and his knowledge of the hospitallity business. Rest in Peace, Norman.

I have incredible memories of my 15 or so years working at the Ashworth with the Grandmaison's. Norman had a great way with the guests and the staff. One of my favorite lines was when Mr. Poirier, a long time regular guest, thanked Norman for the new carpet in room 355 and Norman without missing a beat thanked Mr. Poirier for wearing the old one out. Classic Norman.
At times like these I wish I still lived in the Seacoast.
Joyce, Pat and John - I'm thinking of you.

We will always remember our discussions with both Norman & Joyce during our fequent visits to the Ashworth. Norman would come to our table to tell a joke or share stories about his many business adventures.
Our condolences to the Grandmaison family. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Deepest condolonces to Joyce and the entire family. Norman was a wonderful man who I feel honored to have known. I'll never forget his big smile when he'd walk past the front desk of the Ashworth, heading home for the night... And he'd always say "There's my girl!" He was such a positive presence and I will miss him terribly....

Norman was a dedicated husband, a loving father, grandfather, and uncle, a generous brother-in-law, a man with many loyal friends, and an entertaining storyteller. I believe that, by his grace, courage, and strength in the face of age and failing health, he embodied these lines from Dylan Thomas’s famous poem “Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night” ––
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day:
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And, by his quiet example, he taught me the essence of the following lines from “The Lord’s Prayer” ––
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Those lines and his memory will stay with me forever. Thank you Norman.

To Mr. Grandmaison's family, please accept my sympathies on your loss of this very great man.
Some of my fondest memories of Hampton Beach, including the successes, the shortcomings, the community's characters, large and small; involve Norm Grandmaison and the Ashworh Hotel. So many great stories were related and hijinks unfurled at the Asworth's "family table" that I honestly wouldn't know where to start . . .
Thank you, Mr. Grandmaison, for all you did for Hampton Beach through the years, and thank you for being my friend.
