SISTER MARY EDWIN BURKE, CSJ (Mary Kathleen Burke) A beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston for 67 years, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at Bethany Health Care Center, Framingham. Daughter of the late Charles and Ida (O'Brien) Burke. Sister of the late Eileen Lord, Viola MacDonald, Joseph Burke, and James Burke. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Catherine, Somerville; Immaculate Conception, Marlboro; Sacred Heart, Roslindale; St. Ann, Dorchester; Holy Family, Rockland; Sacred Heart and Our Lady Help of Christians, Newton; St. Catherine, Norwood; Mount St. Joseph Academy, Brighton; Holy Name, West Roxbury. Visiting hours at Holy Spirit Chapel, Bethany Health Care Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham, Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 3:30-6 PM. Vigil Service at 6 PM followed by the Funeral Mass. Prayers of Final Commendation at Bethany, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham. Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home, FRAMINGHAM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, c/o Mission Advancement, 637 Cambridge St., Brighton, MA 02135.
