Sean Clancy Obituary

CLANCY, Sean of Brookline, August 29, 2008. Beloved husband of Barbara who retired from teaching at Madison Park Technical/Vocational High School in 2003 and was formerly a commercial designer for Hou- ghton Mifflin. Beloved father of Nicholas, a master carpenter and musician, and his partner Nicole Benoit of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by a brother, Padraig Clancy who lives in England. Sean Clancy died unexpectedly at home. He was born in County Clare, Ireland June 25, 1933, the son of the noted Irish revolutionary, Patrick Clancy, and Catherine Clancy. Sean moved to the US in 1960. He was a self-taught intellectual who loved theater, the arts and languages. He began work in Boston in sales at Jordan Marsh and later moved to the Bank of New England, where he rose quickly in the organization. He retired as Chief Auditor and Vice President of the bank in 1991. Friends are invited to visit the family at the home of Brook and Judith Baker, 50 Melville Ave. in Dorchester on Thursday, September 11 from 3:30-6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Heart Assoc.

Barbara, I'm sorry for your loss. We taught together at the Woodrow Wilson years ago, and we both retired in the same year.
