George Jones Obituary

Jones, George Dickinson September 5, 2008. Raised in Pawtucket, RI, he graduated from Brown University in 1950 and retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation in 1982 before completing his accomplished career in the steel industry as the Vice President and General Manager of Dominion Rebar. For 58 years he was the beloved husband of Florence (Wallander) Jones. He was the father of Sandy Hallinger and Susan Brandt; the brother of Virginia Milus and the grandfather of Kelly and Brent Hallinger and Lander Brandt. Residence Melvin Village, NH formerly of Needham, MA. His funeral service will be held at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, WEST WARWICK, Rhode Island, on Thursday, September 11 at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours Thursday from 11-12. Burial, with military honors, will be in The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, Rhode Island. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 13 at 2:00 PM in the Melvin Village Community Church, 476 Governor Wentworth Hwy., Melvin Village, NH followed by a reception at The Bald Peak Colony Club.
