Roger Steeves Obituary

STEEVES, Roger S. Of Wellesley passed away Tuesday morning, September 16th, 2008. Born on June 6th, 1936, a native of Wellesley, Roger graduated from Wellesley High School, class of 1954, and Middlebury College in Vermont. He led a successful career in banking as a loan officer for Shawmut Bank and Bank of Boston. In 1967, Roger married Martha L. Howard of Greenfield, MA. They made their home in Wellesley where they raised their two children. He was active in the Kiwanis Club of Wellesley and the Wellesley Club. He was also a longtime supporter and board member of the Walker Home and School. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Martha; his son, Howard W. Steeves; his daughter, Jane S. Wainwright, and her husband, Mark H. Wainwright III; his two grandchildren, Hayden S. and Anne A. Wainwright; his sister, Joan Rolfe of Maine; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 2:00 pm at the Wellesley Congregational Village Church followed by a private family burial ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger's name can be made to the Walker Home and School, 1968 Central Ave., Needham, MA 02492 or online at www.walkerschool.org.

I still remember the stories my father would tell us about his family and Massachusetts. Happy memories and stories that made my dad smile. I loved our visit to Boston and having quality time with my dads cousin, Roger Steeves and his precious family. My father passed away 2 years ago July 2,2018.
