SIMMONS, Janet A. (Ball) age82,of Wilmington,died peacefully at her home on September 18, 2008 surrounded by family,following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Simmons. Devoted mother of Robert J. Simmons and his wife Janice (Lowe) of Billerica, Carolyn S. Gable and her husband William, Joseph P. Simmons and his wife Melissa (Glencross) all of Wilmington, and the late Mary M. Simmons & Frank W. Simmons, loving grandmother of Michael and Stefanie Gable, William, Thomas, and Jonathon Simmons all of Wilmington, dear daughter of the late Ralph C. & Jennie A. (Silva) Ball, sister of Robert F. Ball of Las Cruces, New Mexico and the late Ralph C. Ball. Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), WILMINGTON, on Monday, September 22nd at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.Visiting hours on Sunday, September 21st from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Visiting Nurses of Middlesex-East, 607 North Avenue, Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880 or Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
