Mr. Pryor,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

dear janet,

i'm so very sad!

i never thought it would happen!

i'm so sorry for you!

take good care of yourself!

sincerely,

dave hitchcock

p.s. the only "silver lining" to this is that i no longer will make a fool of myself by guessing the wrong answers, week after week, to the sunday boston globe quiz.

p.p.s. i always thought of don as the "dean of the boys at mcdonald's".
