He was born on October 10, 1920, in Kingston, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Rev. John Raymond Breckenridge and Florence (Learn) Breckenridge. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, June (Harcourt) Breckenridge of Wayland. Also survived by his son John R. Breckenridge. Jr. and his wife Barbara Baskin of Oak Bluffs, MA; his brother Hugh Kenneth Breckenridge of Felton, Delaware and several nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Parks) Breckenridge and brother of the late Alan James Breckenridge. Mr. Breckenridge spent his formative years in Pennsylvania and resided in Wayland for the past 54 years. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Environmental Medicine. Bob served his country proudly during World War II with the U.S. Army. He was an active participant in a number of committees with the Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers. Bob was an avid stamp collector and a member of the Waltham Stamp Club and Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at 1:30 pm at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 169 Rice Road, Wayland. Private interment will take place for the family. Aunt June,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm glad however, that we were all able to get together for what was to be the last reunion of the Breckenridge brothers. Who would have thought all three loved wearing flannel shirts? You're in my thoughts and prayers.

To June and Family:
I am so very sorry to hear that Bob has passed away. Bob and I worked together for many years in the Military Ergonomics Division at Natick. Bob was smart, kind and a true gentleman. I will be in Florida when his memorial service takes place, and will therefore not be able to attend. However, my thoughts and prayers will be with you on that day.

June and Johnny
So sorry to learn of your loss. Uncle Bob was a special person to John and Chris and I growing up in Andover. John and I stayed with Bob and Betty when our brother Chris was born. It is comforting to know that Bob and Betty will forever rest with Alan and Marian Woodcock at Church of the Holy Spirit Wayland

Uncle Bob I will miss you much. As my godfather you provided early guidance and always stayed in touch. Some of what I am will always be because of you.
