Roger LaFreniere Obituary

LaFRENIERE, Roger Of Newton Centre died on September 21, 2008. Husband of 53 years of Carolyn (Holt). Devoted father of Robert Alan and his wife Patricia of Simsbury CT and Steven James of Falls Church VA. Roger was born on July 7,1931; son of Walter and Blanch (Allard). Roger was the eldest of six siblings, and is survived by Emile, Rita Rickell, and Pauline Cartwright all of Central Falls, RI and many nieces and nephews. Roger was the brother of the late Ernest and Paul. Roger was an active member of The First Baptist Church of Newton Centre MA for over 50 years, and served on numerous committees. He was an avid rock collector, active in the Boy Scouts, Newton East Little League, and Newton Youth Hockey. Roger earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Northwestern University. He is a Veteran of the United States Navy. Roger worked for Polaroid Corporation for 26 years in a variety of engineering positions. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church in NEWTON, 848 Beacon Street Newton Centre, on Saturday September 27th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church endowment fund or the charity of your choice.

Dear Cousin Carolyn- Please accept my deepest condolences for the passing of Cousin Roger. I just found out from my brother Roger when I was home for Mum's funeral 2 weeks ago. July 2009.
He will be remembered by me as my favorite cousin always and his enormous kindness. My thoughts and love, Cousin Richard
