Willis Vanpelt Obituary

VANPELT, Willis R. At age 87 of St. Augustine, FL & formerly of Needham, died Sept. 24, 2008 at Flager Hospital. He was born in Pawnee, IL & had resided in St. Augustine since 1984, moving from Needham. He was a pilot for the U.S. Navy during World War II & received the Air Medal. He latter worked for Northrop in Norwood from 1955-1983, retiring as vice president of Sales. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth VanPelt of St. Augustine; one daughter, Pamela Morgan & her husband Samuel of Natick; two sons, Stephen VanPelt & his wife Sharon of Sharon MA, Philip Van Pelt of Long Beach CA; one sister, Doris Hoerdeman of Peoria, IL. Also survived by his son in law, Stephen Mills of Norwood, 10 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lynn Mills. Private graveside services will be held at St Mary's Cemetery in Needham. Sorry to hear of "Van's" passing. During my years with Northrop I enjoyed working with Van. A great person who was always A+ with me. My sympathy to the Van Pelt family.
