Leo Geary John Jr.

GEARY, John Leo Jr. 91, Bangor, ME. October 12, 2008. Husband of Meridith (Ingalls) Geary. Survived by three children, Peter N. Geary and his wife Christine of Avon, MA, Steven B. Geary and wife Mary Ann of Chatham, NJ, and Jennifer A. Duffy of Bangor, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Mariam "Bunty" Hastings of Bangor, and Gardner F. Dame of CA. John was educated in Newton, MA, attended Northeastern University and graduated in 1940 from Boston University. Served as a Captain in the U.S. Army medical corps in the South Pacific area during WWII for 44 months, and he received a Bronze Star, and a Combat Medical badge. He taught school in Belfast, Maine and Needham, MA. John retired to Cape Cod in 1982. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and being with family.
