Marnal Newman Obituary

NEWMAN, Marnal R. "Marnie" Of Chatham. Husband of Katherine Dalton died October 10, 2008 at Cape Cod Hospital. Son of Rodney and Dorothy Newman. Marnie was born in Brookline, MA and attended Brookline High, Tilton Preparatory & Boston University. He played Hockey and Football. He served in the Navy and was stationed in Saipan during World War II as an aviation Mechanic. Marnie worked for Mead Board Sales for many years. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sister Phyllis and brother in law Robert Driscoll of Beverly. His sons, Marnal Jr. "ChipI of Medfield, Paul, of Millis. Their mother Roberta (Needham) Newman of Medfield and 5 Grandchildren, Andrew, Eric, Philip, Courtney and Danielle. He is also survived by his stepchildren Robert Smith of Methuen and Christopher Smith of Lawrence, and step Grand Children Jamie, Jonathan, Rose, Nicholas and Jasmine. Marnie loved his family very much and was proud of his children and grandchildren and their many accomplishments. He was fond of fishing, hiking and boating and was known for his sense of humor, his love of animals and positive attitude. The family is planning a private ceremony with interment at the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
