January 17, 2009

My condolences to the family and friends of my cousin Tommy.

It has been many decades since we have seen each other much to my regret.

I believe that I am the last surviving member of his generation of the Keefe Family who started out as immigrants on Webster St. in West Newton.

I know none of his kids or grandkids and have never had the opportunity to meet them but I would enjoy hearing from any and all of them if possible.

My father was a younger brother to Tommy's dad and his dad was my uncle. When I was a young man Tom and another brother Ed used to come by every Friday evening to watch the fights on our tiny 8 inch TV set.

After reading the obituary I find that Tommy served on Saipan during the war. If anyone can tell me what outfit he served with I would love to know. I have another cousin on my mother's side from California who had his right leg blown off during that fight and i wonder if they ever met.

Semper Fidelis,

Beth & Bill McGarrigle

To the Keefe Family
We're so sorry to hear about Tom. We enjoyed his company only a few times when he and Nat visited Mike and Gwyndra in Philadelphia, but he left a lasting impression. He loved his children and grandchildren and was loved equally in return. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To the Keefe Family,
Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Lt. Keefe. My dad (Charles Burgess) teacher and driving instructor at Wellesley High School for many years, was a good friend of Lt. Keefe's. I lost my mom in June, so I know the heartache you must feel. He is now in heaven with my mom (Rita) and my dad. I'm sure that they are reuniting again as friends.

Mrs Keefe and Family

Lt. Keefe was a great person - it was a pleasure to have served under him for more than 25 years. He personified what law enforcement officers should practice is that he always used common sense and was always fair. He touched many lives and made them better.

To the Keefe Family
(Aunt Nat, Cousins(s) Fran, Jackie, Mike, Tim & Jane)
My Condolences @ this moment in time when we Remember "Uncle" Tom. I have always had the utmost respect & admiration for how he lived, how he laughed and made us all smile. His love for family, & friends, and his "Passion' for Law Enforcement made him the perfect role model for anyone to follow. The last time I spoke with my Uncle I asked him if everything was "10-4" ? And he responded everything is 10-4
"Jerry". Those are the simple words I will always remember. So let's acknowledge not only the loss of such a "Great" man but most importantly it's about how he "LIVED" and made us feel like everything was going to be okay!
Good-bye for now "Uncle", say hello to Mom & Dad at the Pearly Gates, proud to be your nephew,

To the Entire Keefe Family,
I have had the pleasure of being a colleague of Tim Keefe III for the past 14.5 years, and watching his beautiful family grow. Uncle Tom, your passing marks the end of an era, especially for the Keefe family. My Dad, your brother Buddy, got to Heaven a couple years ahead of you to make sure everything would be ready. I can only imagine the reunion with the whole family up there and your mother Grace smiling upon all her boys and girls once again. Thanks Uncle Tom for your fortitude and courage.
